This plot is rolling out whether you like it or not! Since there seemed to be no interest in roleplaying the actual surface venture, it has been NPC'ed in the form of a news article.

We have a new adoptable available for Anton Meyerson Gibbs, the governor who knows the identity of the Lotus.

Keeli's kidnapper is also available again, if anyone would like to play him.

The Lotus Hunting has begun: Tot is in an all-out scramble to find Gibbs, Sebastian, and anyone remotely resembling a Lotus member.







Roles:

Silverwings/Acidians: Search for Gibbs, take in suspected Lotus members for questioning, find information regarding Gibbs' whereabouts and the Lotus' identity

Lotus members: Find Gibbs before he finds The Lotus, mark random citizens with Lotus tattoos to slow the searchers, take down as many Silverwings and Acidians as possible

Head hunters: Search for information on Gibbs and the Lotus in any way you can: kidnapping Lotus members (or false Lotus members), torture, bribery, spying

Gibbs: Stay hidden! Anyone you come into contact with will be immediately under suspicion of being The Lotus. Be careful of who you let near, because they may be there to kill you, but continue communications with Sebastian and The Magistrate in whatever ways possible



Sequence of Events:

1. The Silverwings sink a Lotus ship which was fleeing the scene after an assassination and was carrying stolen goods. The ship falls to the surface, and presumably all the crew members die.

2. Sebastian gets the news about the lost ship and summons Ridge with a mission for him - to round up a crew of thieves, not necessarily in the Black Lotus, to dip down to the surface and recover the goods.

3. Ridge puts said crew together

4. The ship sets out and is intercepted by a routine sweep of Silverwings; they don't have clearance to head to the surface; fight ensues - but the ship makes it out

5. Ship continues down to the surface where a group of Acidians have already found the sunken Lotus ship - another fight

6. Someone (Felix) squeals; an Acidian comes to Anton Meyerson Gibbs with the identity of The Lotus

7. Gibbs hires a kidnapper to kidnap Keeli for ransom, and plays both sides, blackmailing Sebastian and milking The Authority to pay big bucks for his identity

8. Site-wide witch hunt ensues in which Gibbs is constantly followed, everyone he comes into contact with is taken in for "questioning" on suspicion of being The Lotus, random citizens off the streets are marked with Lotus tattoos to confuse the search, Lotus members in an arms race to find and kill Gibbs before he squeals, and all hell breaks loose

Woooo, new big sitewide plot!


So, for this plot, basically what’s gonna happen is some governor discovers Sebastian Caravelle’s identity (The Lotus) and blackmails him by kidnapping his daughter, while simultaneously blackmailing the government for a fat pension if he hands this guy over. Government freaks out, acidians and silverwings are stalking this guy’s every move, everyone he comes into contact with is immediately taken into custody under suspicion of being The Lotus, reporters going nuts, etc.


Characters needed:

Governor Dude: He finds out Sebastian’s identity and starts blackmailing him. He cooks up the plan to have Keeli kidnapped as proof and blackmails some more, while also letting the rest of the government-related folks that he knows who the Lotus is and bartering for a big reward. He’s playing both sites, basically. And eventually he’s gonna have to die, because by golly, Sebastian doesn’t like people having his identity.

Kidnapper Dude: Some random, anonymous psychopath hired by Governor Dude to kidnap Keeli. Little does Kidnapper Dude know, Keeli is a fuckin badass, and Kidnapper Dude will likely have a lot of trouble keeping her down. Needless to say, Kidnapper Dude will wind up dead at some point too.

Real governor characters: Are going to be all in a tizzy on the search for The Lotus and begin calling in and questioning everyone who comes into contact with Governor Dude, playing the Who Can Catch Him First game.

Acidians and silverwings: Will be largely responsible for stalking this guy and apprehending everyone he speaks to, listening in on conversations, tracing letters, and being the hands of the government in trying to catch the Lotus.

Reporters: Are going to go friggin crazy with so many juicy stories and rumors to report, about this dude and about everyone he ever roleplays with

Lotus members: Are going to be on high alert and tracking Governor Dude for all they’re worth: first to hit him wins big.

Sebastian: Is going to be pissed off.

Keeli: Is not the most polite kidnappee in the world.

Don’t commit if you’re not going to be very active, especially with Governor Dude. It’s a big role! (Even if it is just a temporary one, knowing that he’ll likely be dead in a month or two…)

I also offer up Hel as a "decoy"... there was talk about Lotus members capturing and branding random non-Lotus' with their symbol to throw their enemies off-scent, so she'd be good for that.
